EDUCATION CONSULTANT, LEARNING SCIENTIST

Whitney Griffin, PHD

My PhD is in the Learning Sciences, a branch of Educational Psychology. In my work as an educational consultant, I have experience designing learning environments in higher education, global software companies, and yoga teacher training programs. My passion is making education accessible for historically marginalized populations, such as BIPOC groups, people with disabilities, and those in the traumatic brain injury community.

I have taught psychology courses at the community college level (Cerritos College, Golden West College) and “Race and College Sport” at the graduate school level (University of Oklahoma). You can check out my teaching and research work on my portfolio site.

In the world of social science research, I have published over 15 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on the intersections of sport, race, gender, HipHop, and education. My research advisor and I created and manage The Journal of Higher Education, Athletics, Labor & Innovation. We accept submissions on a rolling basis.
